In my opinion the shaft has much more to do with the way a club feels than the head. I compete in Long Drive and build my own
clubs. One can take the exact head and put in a different shaft and make the club feel different. Not just flex but brand also. A reputable clubfitter can put a different 3 wood shaft in and make it feel right for you.
One other tip, expensive shafts are not always better shafts. There are several lines of shafts like Accuflex, SK Fiber and Mercury that are top shelf at a great price.
