I think the Momentus is one of the best training aids ever invented, if used correctly. If you swing it and let it swing by its own weight and momentum you'll learn an on-plane swing. It will also teach you a straight line delivery. Golfers try to swing the club in a circle. Moving in a circle developes centrifugal force. Centrifugal force is what releases the club. This is why you see so many golfers struggling with casting and an early release. They develope centrifugal force way too early. We want to restrain centrifugal force.

By moving in a straight line we avoid centrifugal force. Letting the momentus fall and swing in the downswing by its own weight it will fall working with gravity. The hands will fall straight down to their impact position hence the straight line delivery.
