| Re: what is the most used club? Based on an average golfer who shoots in to 90's, the putter is definitely the most used club. The average golfer will take 36 or more (average 2 putt or worse) putts per 18 holes. From there, there is almost some sort of wedge shot per hole which will give you minimum 18 wedge (full, pitch or chip) shots per round. On a long course, there is about 14 drives (assuming four par 3's) and atleast 4 fairway woods for second shots on the par 5's. The rest will be iron shots (3-9 irons) - about 1 per hole on average. That gives your average 18 - 22 handicap player all 90 shots.
