You guys have hit the nail on the head pointing this out to fatigue. John - make sure you stay hydrated on the course (you should drink at least a litre of water for 18 holes) and bring some fruit along as well to help you restore some energy for the later rounds. A banana (CPR for fatigued muscles) and an apple or orange should help boost you through the last 4 holes of your round.

If yor fatigue is beyond a nutritional need, try taking a Pilates for golf class. This will help strengthen your core muscles. Pilates also teaches the proper breathing technique for sports so you have more endurance.
