I am right handed and use the interlock grip, it sound like you have a good grip............I think this is a simple case of starting the swing with your right hand prodominatley, this will seperate the hands slightly....if you try starting the swing with the left hand first they shouldn't seperate.

when you are comfortable that they don't seperate try to even the takeaway so that both hands start together.

I think that once you start thinking about the grip to much it ruins the swing worse than any other swing thought......just my opinion !!
