I like the post!
When I teach people the short-game, I always start off by teaching 1 singe chipping motion. This breeds a consistent swing and result time and time again. That in turn breeds confidence which is very important in the short game.
Only once the student has mastered a single short game shot with a wedge or sand wedge do we move onto using different
clubs, wrist action, etc.
So many teaching professionals teach 4 or 5 short game shots early on and that leads to confusion as to which shot to use, each swing is different and as a result there is no consistency and even less confidence.
