Re: Distance of Hands from torso at address

You've actually hammered it right on, pnearn.

There should be about 1 span (hand width) between your hands at address and your, uh, fellas.

This does make for a very upright swing, and does generally lead to a cleaner strike.

It also makes it really, really tough to lay off and flatten out your swing (as the plane is now much more vertical).

If you're set up too far away (hands from body), you may start to hit a lot of toe shots (I know I do) as your swing wants to be compact and close.

Keep it close, keep it upright, and enjoy your ball striking!

A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.

I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.

For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.
