my left hand grip has always been with the shaft resting with the pad of my thumb on top of the shaft and I guess what could be called the heel of the hand at the forward side and rapped round the shaft. the shaft lays directly across the palm diagonally.

should I move the shaft so the heel is on top of the shaft ?
