You will have a great round with those 2 blokes Slats...

Only other thing that comes to mind is, just play your own game and enjoy their company. Don't go comparing your game to theirs, at least until you are safely back in the clubrooms with the frothies on hand....

Good luck

you were right craig!
both guys were absolute diamonds, down to earth and very encouraging.
they helped me play the best 13 holes of golf ever shame about the other 5 holes which were absolute sh*te!
front9 4,6,9,4,5,4,4,7,3 =46
back9 4,6,5,9,4,5,8,8,4 = 53
not to be too hard on myself the 5 bad scores were on SI 2-6 but then again i did par the SI 1 par 5!
a case of what might have been!

What a shame about those 5 holes, looks like you are going through what I am lately, playing some lovely golf for 4 or 5 holes and then have a nightmare hole or two, then back to good golf, have another mare...

I know you can't stop looking/thinking about those bad 5 holes but if you were to put your score like this:

4,6,9,4,5,4,4,7,3 =46

back9 4,6,5,9,4,5,8,8,4 = 53

You'd feel proud of those awesome 13 holes!

Great round Pedro but I'd transfer that form before the handicapper catches up with you.

Good target; My aim is to play to the equivalent of bogey golf - regularly - which in the greater scheme of things won't be far off your handicap.

Interesting to see that you can have cracker of a round without hitting the ball miles.

On reflection still working out your maths: How does 4 birdies 4 pars 1 bogey (3 under) come to a gross 41?

par 4 hole stroke index 16 = + 1 stroke i take 4 shots so thats a nett birdie
gross 41 - 11 strokes equals nett 30

Doff's my lid to ya Slat's...

At "our level", 41 off the beater is good golf regardless...

Good job and good luck on getting down to mid teens by years end.

Cheers

hi nicole
its not so much the mental side of playing comp golf its more the positoning of the comp tees and the pins!

doing the par 18 at the end of my practise sessions had a couple of 15's last week!

Re: Slat's Journal

this is getting like groundhog day!

just getting my gear ready to go play in the club comp and as usual its cold and its pi**ing it down

FFS its supposed to be our summertime

so instead of playing in warm sunny weather in shorts and polo shirt i ve got to don warm clothes and a waterprooof suit, attach the raincover to the bag(dont know why i dont just leave it on there permanently)

then it goes like this................
put brolly down, unzip rain cover, take out club, dry hands and then the grip, wipe the blob of rain off your nose, see if you can spot the flag through the driving rain, hit shot, clean club, unzip raincover, replace club and pick up brolly
repeat 90 times ..................AARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH:ma d:

rant over!
