Stillhackens Journey.

My 2007 season has been up and down.
My goal was to shoot in the mid 80s.
Its not uncommon for me to have a ten stroke difference in scores between rounds.
If I get off the tee good then I typically score my best.
I usually score between 85 to 95.

I spent the winter working on my swing in the garage video taping it.
I started out this season shooting the best rounds I have ever shot.
I was averaging about 250 off the tee with the occasional bomb in there. I had so much confidence with my driver I could pick a spot in the fairway and stripe it. No fear. Then Turkey hunting season came in and I took the the month of april off from golf to hunt. When I pulled the sticks out again it looked like I just started playing. I have been fighting this driver ever since.

Im starting to get back in the groove. Today I shot my pb on the front nine of the hardest course I play. I shot a 39. I wanted to keep this scorecard but I did a Greg Norman on the back and shot a 49. Maybe I will cut the card in half and throw the back nine in the trash. 88 is still a good score for me on this course.

Things that have helped my game the most I think are; I bought a shagbag. Its so easy now to go in the back yard and chip and pitch 40 or 50 balls and just go easily pick them up. This practice really shows on the course. I am now leaving myself legitimate putts for par.

I have also been swinging the refiner hinged golf club. This thing has helped my tempo greatly. The only problem I see with this training aid is I believe it promotes a cupped wrist in the back swing. If you keep a flat wrist it will break over.I do believe this was money well spent.

Re: Stillhackens Journey.

Well I had a good round yesterday shooting my pb on the front and blowing up the back. Im only going to recap the front because there will be plenty of bad rounds to post about.

I played with my neighbor Greg who rarely plays so I felt no pressure today...I just wanted to enjoy myself.

Hole one- Hit a weak drive about 210yrds in the fairway. Stuck a 7 iron and two putted for a par.....this game is easy.

Hole two - dog leg left par five ,water, woods, and bunkers...this hole had it all. I hit a decent drive to the dogleg. Hit a 5 Iron straight down the fairway about 170 .Stuck my gap wedge and two putted for par. Hot damn thats two pars in a row !

Hole 3 - 365 yard par 4......This hole is tight with water all down the right side and woods on the left. Hit another weak drive here that was just off the fairway. Greg blasted his drive so far right it cleared the water and was in the next fairway. After about 15 minutes of chilidipping and one ball topped into the water he hits it 20 yards past the green. I am now in rush mode because two guys are waiting to tee off. I race back to my ball but I have to walk across the fairway because its roped off. I take two clubs but what do you know I needed a 6 iron but brought a 7 and 8. I go ahead and hit my 7 and come up short . I chip on and have a 4 foot putt horseshoe the cup and hang on the edge. BOGEY. Oh well im striking the ball good.

Hole 4 - short par three not to difficult. I miss the green but chip on and drain a 7 footer for par.

Hole 5 - dogleg right par four. Holes like this are the toughest for me. Its short to the dogleg and long to the green. I hit driver to the dogleg then 5 iron that left me about 20 yards short of the green. I make an awsome chip then drain the putt! Par! At this point I still dont realize how good a round I have going.

Hole 6 -
