Broken Shaft On My 04 Big Bertha 7 Iron

I was at the range and the head of my Big Bertha 2004 7 Iron went flying. Tracked it down and now I need some advice.

The shaft is a True Temper Uniflex. I looked on Golf Galaxy and Goldsmith and couldn't find any shafts with Uniflex. Is it only available from Callaway? Is there something comparable?

Also, do places carry Callaway Grips, or will I have the same problems with the grips as I do with the shafts?

Thanks for any help!!!

Re: Broken Shaft On My 04 Big Bertha 7 Iron

hi
i snapped my head of my ping K1 sand iron some years ago and i tried to get the same shaft fitted but no one near me had that shaft. i phoned ping and they told me to send them the club head and they would match the shaft as they had the number on file of the shaft fitted to that head. two weeks later i got the club back re-shafted and only had to pay postage and packing.

maybe see where the nearest Callaway fitting station is and give them a phone. might work out cheaper than have some local fitter fit the shaft and if like ping Callaway should set you the club with the same swing weight etc.
best of luck.
bill

Re: Broken Shaft On My 04 Big Bertha 7 Iron

The uniflex shafts are 'proprietary' and aren't carried by the major outlets.

The OEM branded grips, however, you should be able to get at either golfworks or golfsmith (or golf galaxy).
