| Re: clubmaking Thems looks like some great toys! I'm really curious as to how they got that C4.2 club to D4.0... (OK, I'm actually afraid to ask, 'cause I'm pretty sure they didn't tip or otherwise stiffen the shaft). From what I hear, though, working in the Tour Van means you get it done fast, not necessarily done right. ![]() Granted, I do have some tour-van equipment; the MR3 True Blue L/L bending machine, and a JET 1HP grinder/polisher. It's really cool to take a dirty, marred up old club, and after 5 minutes on the JET, making it look like it's only had a half dozen rounds on it.

| Re: clubmaking hi lowpost remember that the ping clubs have a variable tungsten weight on the toe that can be changed and also a weight behind the cavity that can also be changed to adjust the swing weight. i believe the plastic and tungsten plate that call a tuning port on the back of the cavity comes in different weights so the can match the shafts so that the longer iron heads are lighter but with the longer shafts they match and the shorter short iron shafts have heavier heads. the different tuning port at the back can also change the flight of the ball as they come with different weight property's. i think i spoke to before about the new different shaft ping were using in there new clubs. lighter shaft and heads for the longer irons but heaver shafts and heads for the short irons. the pros seem to think they the new shafts are better as they are all using the standard ping shafts, but i don;t know who make them for ping. they had the new Japan made S57 at the open but i know some of the pros did not like them over the S58. ping said it was just a sample and there were not moving to japan/china to get there club head made. but the new wedges are made in Japan i heard. cheers bill
