Hogan Apex Clone

I am a beginner using muscle back irons that are killing my hands. I have tried real Calloway and Ping irons and do not like them because there is no feedback at all. But the muscle backs give too much feedback.

So I found this Hogan Apex Clone that looks like it will give me some feedback and some forgiveness. I like its looks too. It can be found here: http://www.bestbuygolfsupply.com/Ben.../1362/UHSI.asp

I wonder if anyone has any experience with this head and with the company selling it? I have tried contacting the company for info re hosel diameter (to buy ferrules) and offset specs but they do not reply.

Any thoughts about where I can get that head elsewhere or if there is a good head choice for my purpose? The purpose being some forgiveness with good feel. And yes I know it is a trade off.

I have no interest in buying "good" clubs because I assume I will get better and will get rid of these clubs anyway. At the price, I can give them away and still get a better deal than a name brand traded in later.

Thanks

ab

Re: Hogan Apex Clone

i am dont' know anything about clubs really, that is lowpost. but if your hands hurt i am assuming is is because your swing is wrong. i know if i swat at the ball my hands will hurt to at impact. look at this site and the impat drill

http://members.cox.net/gregjwillis/LESSON1.htm

i have learned to have keep a cupped right wrist at impact and when i hit the ball like that not only is there a ton more accuaracy and power, but i can't even feel the ball being hit. because you are hitting the ball with you body and not your hands. the reason you get more power as greg explains is because you are rotating your shoulders more if you cup than if you were to swat at it. if you dont know know what cupping and cocking is look at post by shooting4par talking about hand shake drill
