Ping I5 Need Help Went thru fitting session with authorized dealer, very disatissfied with clubs Swing Meter showed 81mph swing speed with 6 iron. Was recommended standard length, blue dot, cclite stiff flex. Irons are too stiff and too light, thats how they feel to me. Hitting lower than I like also. They measure D0 on my swingweight scale. I am now looking to change shafts ( any recommendations? ) I was told they have .355 taper tips, and they have to be force fit down in the hosel. If this is so, how can I add plug weights in the end of the shaft to bring the swingweight up to D3-D4 ? Thanks for any advice. Mike mnrh@bellsouth.net

Re: Ping I5 Need Help Hey Bill, thanks for the reply. The blue dot is ok, I thought I mentioned standard length. The issue is they are too light and too stiff. I have contacted Ping a couple times and no help whatsoever. I think they wanted somewhere around 35.00 per club to reshaft and swingweight to D3 along with shipping charges. This would have me sinking another 400.00 in the 10 clubs I purchased ( 3 - PW, GW, SW ) This experience is something I have to deal with, I am just looking for info on how difficult it is to change the shaft and since they are taper tipped if installing a lead plug weight in the end of the shaft to get to D3 will cause problems with the shaft seating properly. I was hoping Ping would at least charge me only the cost to send back and have them reshafted and the swingweight corrected. I cant sink another 400.00 in these, instead probably next year I will trade in on something else. I have heard others say Ping has good customer support but I have not found this to be so. The experience will drive me away from Ping products in the future. Thanks again for the reply Mike

Re: Ping I5 Need Help hi mike i contacted ping about your clubs and the say it the weight behind the blue ping name on back of clubs that get changed, not weights in shaft as that would not work right. they charge $13.75 per club + tax. $14 postage for a set of clubs. = about $150 for a set of irons. dont know about cclight shafts as cant find them listed but cclight shaft are desindned to hit ball high. www.pinggolf.com/interacy_repair.html hope this helps bill Last edited by bill reed; 08-02-2006 at 02:17 PM.
