| Re: Ideal Length of the shaft Well, Viresh, the proper answer is: It depends on your swing. The 'standard' for today's 5 iron is 38 inches. So you're probably looking at a 38.5" 5 iron, being a little over tall (at least, this is what a static fitting chart would say). I'm 6' tall. All static fitting charts state that I should be playing standard length clubs with standard lies. However, I play my clubs a touch shy of 2° upright, and actually only play my PW at standard length. Every club from 5i to 9i is actually shorter than standard. But my clubs are MOI matched, and fitted to my swing (which is a little more bent over). Since you're asking, I'd assume you're looking for new clubs. Visit a clubfitter, and enjoy sticks built for you.
