| Re: Rolling up the 3/4 inch tape on the shaft There are a few ways to apply the 3/4" tape. One is to spiral it, leaving a gap. One is to spiral it, leaving no gap. One is to spiral it, leaving a gap, then filling the gap with more tape. One is to apply it much like 2" tape, in strips along the length of the shaft. Again, you can leave gaps or make it tight. Please note, this only works for the top layer. Any buildup layer should have even and uniform coverage (unless you're doing something akin to building up the grip under the lower hand).

| Re: Rolling up the 3/4 inch tape on the shaft See, he never fails to produce the goods!!! Cheers Lowpost One last thing, i have to have 3 layers of tape on mine, do you try and stagger the joins or do exactly the same for the second and third layers? |

| Re: Rolling up the 3/4 inch tape on the shaft I would try the perfect overlap, myself. The first time I messed around with 3/4" tape, I spiralled one way, then spiralled the other way (it sure looked nice). But when it came time to take the tape off............ well, it wasn't nice. Or easy. Or fun. In fact, I think I had a few choice names for myself at that point, none of them pleasant. So as long as your buildup layers cover the shaft completely, I'd try to mimic them as closely as possible. If you have to remove the tape, it should come off easier.
