Question Weighted Driver

Does anyone know how to make a weighted driver that can be used to actually hit balls? I would like to take an old cheap driver and add some weight to it and use it on the range to practice.

Re: Weighted Driver

A quarter inch rod will probably work. Ram it in, mark it, cut it, then build it up in a couple spots so it doesn't rattle around.

I crammed a 5/16" rod in an old ping 7 iorn, and it's the same weight as the momentus Jr.

Next, I'd take the grip off, use lead tape in place of buildup tape, and put another grip on.

Finally, plaster the head with lead tape, and wrap the shaft in lead tape as well.

Re: Weighted Driver

Fill the shaft with sand and plug the end. As lowpost says, load the head up with lead tape as well

I dont think you should be hitting balls with it though, its best used as a flexibility aid and a strenthening tool trying to hit a ball at full chat may result in wrist shoulder or back injury.
