Belly putter

I've been thinking about making a belly putter just for giggles(I've never used one).Would you just take a new uncut iron shaft and cut it to length? And would a center shafted head be best?

Tips on this would be great

Thanks,G

Re: Belly putter

hi
i have a 50 inch center shafted broomhandled putter but the shafts a lot thicker than any of the irons or woods, you dont really want any flex in such a long shaft i think.

Re: Belly putter

Thanks,

50 in. is that more like a stand up putter(LOL I can't think of the name-Bernhard Langer style?) Or is that you meant by broomhandled?

Re: Belly putter

The cheap way to do it, just to see if you like it. Just take the putter you have now, cut the top end piece off the grip and jam another shaft into it, cut to lenght and put on a grip. If it works and you like it, then shop around and find a good long putter or replace the shaft you have making it more permanent.

This way if it is no good, you can always pull that shaft back out and replace the grip, your back to what you had....
