greensomes?

got a text from a mate at the golf club telling me we are playing in a greensomes comp on saturday morning, as relative newbie to club golf how do you play greensomes?

2 teams. Both players on a team tee off, the best of the two tee balls is selected and that ball is then played alternate-shot until holed.

We call that "Canadian Foursomes" down here......

There is also American Foursomes where both players tee off, both players then hit their partners ball, then the best ball is selected and played alternate shot from there...

Had initially thought Greensomes may have been a variation on Canadian where your opponents get to pick which of the two balls is selected...

That'd be fun....

Yes, that's the way I play it. Be careful, sometimes there is a limit on how many times a player's tee ball can be selected!
