Do you think i should stick to 9 holes untill my game improves more??
Can you give me any tips to help my problem with slicing??
Do you think my game will improve if i am playing on my own??
Do you suggest i have some lessons as they do them at my local driving range??
9 Holes is good if you are walking. I suggest playing 9 holes if you do start to loose control on the back nine. Instead of playing the 18, try to play the 9 more often and it will get you in better shape for a full 18. As a great golfer once said: "A day without practice is one day longer it takes to get good."

My Golf Schedule:
During the Daylight Savings Time months (USA) I usually play 9 holes on Monday, Wednesday & Friday, 9 to 18 (depends) on sunday and on those other nights I try to play atleast two or three holes. Days that I can't make it out there, I atleast spend a few minutes putting and chipping.

Hi Glyn,

Have a look at Greg's lessons and have patients.

The best advice I can give is to grip the club as light as possible at all times, a tight grip causes so many other faults that would not normally be there.

Hope this helps.

Ian.

Ian Great point about grip tension. I too try and hold the club as light as possible. Any tension in the grip results in tension up the forearms then the upper arms then the shoulders. All this tension actually slowes your swing speed down considerably. A good comparison is the 100 meter sprinter, he aims to relax is muscles as much as possible. Why? because fast muscles react quicker than tense ones and in the golf swing this means improved swing speed
