It is if you're talking about your entire range for your clubs, or say, your sand wedge.

Mike Weir is only 25 pounds heavier than you, and he hits his driver in the high 270's.

im 5.8 and 175 pounds im hitting about 240..265 (my personal record in a golf course) no is not what you ht or # you got but EXCERCISE golf use a bunch of muscles we dont really use on daily bases and need to excercise the more strong they got the more distance you got triceps, lats, legs, wrists, abdomen muscles, fingers!!and stamina...really we golfers need stamina.

Re: what's my average distance for my WHT &HT

As has been said, depends on the club you are talking about, though Im guessing you are talking about driver off the tee as thats what most people mean when they talk about distance.

Im 280-310yrds at the moment with my new 9 degree Stiff KingCobra 440sz.
Its replacing a 10.5 degree regular so Im happy with the results

All that said, distance aint worth much if you cant get the ball in the hole.
Driving is for show, putting is for dough.

Re: what's my average distance for my WHT &HT

Nowadays, a lot of golfers get more distance by working out at the gym...

It's not how FAR you hit it...It's how CLOSE you hit it...lol...and that measurement is from the hole, not yourself.

Actually, height, age and weight has little to do with distance... It's more practical to look up the average distance an amateur gets with each clubstick...

i hate when people answer like that. specially when (no offense) you distances are only 200. that means your 5i is probly 140ish. 365 ydr hole, drive 200 leaves you 150 left, you hit your 3i (which is not very accurate) so now you need to hit a chip on the green. or the pro's who drive 280 who now has 80 left and 80yrd PW can get very close to the hole. that is assuming both or your drives are dead strait. would you rather have a 3i to the green or a pw?

or a par 3 210, a 5i and on green can be close to the hole with possible birdie. or a drive which would be very hard to even hit the green, then a chip/pitch and then you make the putt. what would you rather tee of with?

driving distances is not just to "impress" but driving distance can be a way to gauge all you club distances.

but my personal thoughts are any adult male should be able to hit at least 250 (with your specs my guess would be you probly couldn't hit further than 340, if you want further than that you will need more strength), higher than 250 depends on strength and hieght, but if you are hitting less than 250, something is wrong with your technique.

it is not all about strength and hieght, but that definatly helps. that is why women can even hit is 300ish, they may not be very tall or have a ton of strength, but they can still hit the ball far because of their proper tehnique.
