Re: Will Monty win a major before the end of his career?

Monty will never win a major. Which makes me very happy .

I'm not sure why I don't like him, but it bugs the hell out of me to watch him play.

If Sergio can get his putting fixed he should win a major in the next year or 2. I truly doubt he will get it fixed to the point it's a solid part of his game. The reason I think it will be tough for him is his issues with his grip. He gripped, regripped, regripped again, then again. It was painful for his playing partners to watch. 2 minutes just to grip his club. 2 years later he got over it. How long will it take to feel comfortable making a putting STROKE if he had that many issues with just his grip.

Re: Will Monty win a major before the end of his career?

I dont think he can. He's always had a quirky swing that relied a lot on hand-eye co-ordination. When its on he's one of the the best ball strikers in the world but he can easily get off. His putting is also up there with Sergio's - bad

Id hazard a guess someone like Howell or Stenson will be the next euros to win a major unless Sergio finally learns how to putt and keep his head for 4 days

Re: Will Monty win a major before the end of his career?

Monty's a great golfer but he's had his share of personal problems over the past few years. I'm sure that golf is 90% in the mind. Who would want to try playing your best when the wife wants a divorce and half your money? Hopefully he's over the worst now and I'm sure he's settling down. Still a good bet for the Ryder cup. IMHO he is one of the best team players .

They're certainly performing for me... I seem to be a lot more accurate and consistant now. Nice high trajectory fights on my 4, 5, 6, and 7 irons... just how I like 'em. The lower clubs 8, 9, P, G and S are easier to hit than my Mizuno MX17, and I feel I'm able to control the ball when I hit them.

I like the sound of a good connection on these irons, and I feel very confident at address with them!

Re: Will Monty win a major before the end of his career?

hi
monty is one of the best brittish golfer ever, his hard work at the last ryder cup was amazing, he was going through a bad patch in his marrage and was real down before the match, and after they won he was so exhusted he missed the dinner. he is a bit like norman that he should of won lot more than he did.

No. Last year at the U.S. Open was his last best chance.
