Our course is a 6500yd par 72, on which I usually score in the mid *cough*ds.

Re: A Poll>>>Do you shoot 70,80, 90, or above

Great idea for a thread.............

73 yesterday scratch is 70....................4 birdies including two 2s a good round for me usually 2/3 shots more.

My mate plays of +2 he shot a 67 yesterday 3 under, I just find it hard to swallow when he shots 73 and he is unhappy.

If only I got on 16 in two instead I dropped into the greenside bunker, hit a really thin one and had a bogey then a bogey on the last, missed from 3 feet, one of those downhill knee knockers after poor chip went passed the pin.

Could have been my best round of the season, (level) without the two bogeys at the end and the birdie putt had gone in on 10 instead of lipping out.

No complaints.

Ian.

The last two years, my lowest score was 75 and my highest was 91. Usually, I score in the low/mid 80's on a par 72 course. My hcp is 9.2

Re: A Poll>>>Do you shoot 70,80, 90, or above

111 was my last score. Basic double-bogey golf. It's the silly mistakes that add up. On my first hole on Sunday, I hit one OB off the tee to I was lying 3 off the tee a couple of nice shots then I proceed to shank 3 shots in a row around the circumference of the green! Bloody hell.

Actually I think I've regressed this year!

Here's a theory: your set up needs to adapt as you improve your swing. This means it's hard to hit consistently until you have that repeatable swing. One day I've got a great wood swing and set up. The next my woods suck and my iron shots are ok. The next time everything has blown apart.

Lesson time. The only problem is my instructor sold his golf school and I don't know where he went. Starting over with a new instructor might be problematic.

Re: A Poll>>>Do you shoot 70,80, 90, or above

I shoot pretty consistently right around the 90 mark when shooting 18. 9 hole course though so I don't get very many 18 holes in.

For 9 I shoot between 43 and 48. Very dissapointed with anything worse than that. I've also scattered in a 38 and a 41 this year.

Re: A Poll>>>Do you shoot 70,80, 90, or above

Last round shot 105. A course i hadn't played before (but that's most courses as i'm pretty new) and when i asked in the 'pro' shop for a course guide the attendant didn't know what i was talking about!

Definitely a round of 2 halves - SIXTY!!! on the front nine! I played bogey golf on the back nine which i was pleased with considering i nearly walked off after 8 holes.

Now all i have to do is put two 2nd half rounds rounds together and i may break 90.

Re: A Poll>>>Do you shoot 70,80, 90, or above

At my home course I play scores between 73-78. Yesterday I had my best round, 68 (4 under par). When I visit other courses, my scores are usually around 80 from back tees. I´m happy with my game right now, but hopefully I´ll improve.
