| Re: punch Also, play the ball further back in the stance, favouring the weight on your left side. Make sure you take enough club; it is better to take no more than a three-quarter swing. With the ball back and hands leading through impact (making sure the club face is square), the ball will explode nice and low..... |

| Re: punch The idea of slightly open stance is to get the ball to check quickly. So it hits the deck and one or two bounces later, stops. The shot is a consideration when close to the green (pitching length). I liken the shot to say tennis, hitting down and across the ball to create the side spin. |
