| Re: The GTO Open Golf Day (UK Summer 2007 Tour) Nice thought Brian, Maybe the PGA nation course at the Belfry may be an cheaper option, I believe it is about £40.00 per round...................Still very tough......I've played it. Ian. |

| Guys, I have asked for anther quote from the Belfry for the P.G.A. National course, which should be significantly cheaper ![]() Providing the cost is good are the same people still up for it and can we encourage anyone else? All those interested please respond again ![]() I will update this thread when I receive the new prices... I must admit the price for the Brabazon is very high for a round of golf, and the fact that they don't extend courtesy to pro's... well don't get me started ![]() |

| Re: The GTO Open Golf Day (UK Summer 2007 Tour) With the number of responses (5 so far), a thought comes to mind. What if we satellite the venues? Find local pods of interested players, form some "leaders" and put together regional tournaments, and they don't all have to be the same day. Just the idea of getting GTOers together on the same course, and having pictures and video of the evens all combined together can make this a big success. Then get the score cards on CCS and come up with a format and a winner or winning team is all secondary...it's all about the idea of getting us together that counts. I for one will can put together the group in the Mid-Atlantic Region. Willing participants, reply to my private message (or here if you like) and we can see how many hits we get. The location I would pick would be "Old Hickory" in Northern VA, about 20 miles from DC, but again could be different if enough are in proximity to other locations... Others willing to host in other area's can post their location and venue, and see if they get hits. This is all in addition to the existing great work Greg has already put into this idea!

| Re: The GTO Open Golf Day (UK Summer 2007 Tour) I'm more than happy to co-ordinate my area - I don't know how big areas are? But I guess it would be the South West. I'd need to research courses more, but Castle Coombe and Farrington Gurney spring to mind. But yeah, I'd be up for that. I also would think I'd be up for the PGA Belfry experience, for what that's worth... |

it echoed my sentiments exactly, i appreciate greg's effort in pulling this comp together but would gladly play something less "grandiose" if it means its more financially viable for the other guys. for me its more about putting names to faces and having a good craic ![]() |

| Guys The Derby Course with coffee/tea & bacon roll on arrival, range balls, 18 holes and dinner has a great deal on for £50 each... throw in a fiver for prizes £55 I have never played the Derby course, I assume it is not quite as good as the others but is far more reasonably priced... we will still have fun ![]() I am struggling with dates around August... the best for me seems to be Sat 18th how does this fit in with everyone and what are your thoughts on the price for the Derby course? Also: The Derby course does not require a handicap certificate, whereas the other two courses do! will this help anyone? Hotel Room Prices: Single Occupancy - £149 Twin Occupancy - £169
