Not to hijack the topic, but that sounds exactly like my golf game! Buried in knee deep (intolerable) rough and hacking (relentlessly) away at the ball. And yes - I tend to remember those hacks better than the good shots.

Re: Uk

Guys,

Just a suggestion - it may be too late as the bookings may have already been made and if that's the case then so be it.

Because of the early tee-off times it is likely that most people will require a hotel which will involve extra cost.

If we held the event on august 19/20 (i.e. sunday and monday) we would be able to get the special golf deal package that is available at the forest of arden (and other marriott hotels). The special offer would provide the following;

- 18 holes on sunday afternoon on the Aylesford course
- Dinner, bed and breakfast for the sunday night
- 18 holes on the monday morning on the Arden course.

All this would only cost £114 each if rooms were shared (the rooms are deluxe and have 2 double beds in them)

If we had single room occupancy the cost would be £149 each.

I went on one of these packages earlier this year at it was excellent.

qassim,

Unfortunately I have to be back for meetings on the Monday, so I couldn't do that one. I also confirmed the booking yesterday...

Re: Uk

I am really up for this, and I want to be a provisional yes, but I just need to check the times of my holiday with "'er indoors" - I know it's around then. Will confirm as soon as I possibly can, but I am really keen to do this if I possibly can

Re: Uk

Yes I would like to join this little get together, just have to organise the Friday off work and a sweetener for the missus. I could also offer a lift to anyone from the NE UK. I also dont mind sharing to lower the cost of a B&B or Hotel whether it a 1 or 2 night stay.
When do you want deposits etc?
When you releasing the format of the golf, the mini comps etc too?

Re: Uk

Guys a standard single room at the welcome break hotel at Warwick is only £70 for 2 nights and its only 20 mins away from the course, no breakfast but you be getting a butty on Friday morning and you will be up too early to get it the breakfast anyway as we have to be at course by 7am. As for the Sunday am sure they do breakfast at a reasonable price.
Or there an executive doubles if you don't mind sharing (think it double bed but what the hell ) includes breakfast £108 for 2 nights (only £54 each)
It definitely worth considering.
