Re: The GTO Open Golf Day (UK Summer 2007 Tour)

Thanks Slats,

How do you think I feel...........!!

To update you he played yesterday at Walsall Golf Club for Staffordshire.........he was awsome, now playing off 18.2.

He lost 1 down, with a driver and two 7 woods to the par 5 last, landed 10 feet from the pin and just missed the birdie for a draw, he was well chuffed with his game even though he lost, the other lad was 13 years old off 10. I saw some pretty impressive juniors yesterday.

You have already stated the reason he will not be coming, it could be embarrising for all of us.

Ian.

Re: The GTO Open Golf Day (UK Summer 2007 Tour)

LOL

One of the early groups we let through on Sunday was a pair of kids around that age, both had beautiful swings, both balls split the fairway some way off in the distance.

On the 10th we let a Dad & Son pair through; as the lad holed his long birdie putt his Dad turned me and said "that's me 5 down already".

Just wait for it Ian H - Liam will be all over you soon!

As for us, Sats the best way for us to improve would be to a get a time machine and start younger.

Re: The GTO Open Golf Day (UK Summer 2007 Tour)

Hi Ian (Slater) Mate,

I am staying Fri & Sat here at The Manor Hotel, Main road, Meriden, CV7 7NH which is only a stones throw away from the course so at night time it wont be a fortune in taxi fare.

I got the room from www.laterooms.com and for a single they have dropped the price to £55 for the friday and £68 for the Sat inc Breakfast

Hope it helps out matey

Cheers
Mark

Re: The GTO Open Golf Day (UK Summer 2007 Tour)

Hi Mark/Slats,

Firstly, yes it is Liam Hancock in the mag this month, he was also on the BBC coverage on thursday during the Scottish Open at Loch Lomond, matched Casey on every position.

He is now playing for Staffordshire, but I don't want them working on his swing, I'd rather he has fun with the game for now and learns more about scoring, escape shots, putting, bunkers etc not what food to eat and exercise, it's me who needs that training, so just no sure, as they are talking Belfry for winter training etc.(also a big ask for me to give the time)

As for the comp, I'm looking forward to a game and meeting you guys, I will be travelling in the morning.

Cheers

Ian.

Hi Slats,

I think we should have a buggy ban (unless disability demands) rather anti-social, besides it's not a bad walk there.

I'm travelling down on the day.......

Not sure what the draw or plans are for the day yet but, with starting so early we could make a day of things, a round, full english, some work on the range maybe, no rush home that day..........I am sure Greg will sort.

Really looking forward to it now.

Ian.

Hi mate,

Re: The GTO Open Golf Day (UK Summer 2007 Tour)

without tracking back in the thread. arent we having a 2 course dinner?
our last group will be back by about noon so thats the whole of the afternoon spare.
if the weather is nice then sitting on the bar patio looking over the 18th green isnt a bad place to be!

will wait to see what greg has planned, after he has seen my swing he will probably want to give me some free tuition
