  • Blasting wedges

I have seen some of the better players in the club using rusty wedges,I am guessing it grips the ball better when trying to spin the ball. I decided whether it was that or not,I would try something. Having in the past worked in engineering, I knew the effect a bead blaster (not sand ) would have on the face of my wedges. I took a MacGregore 52* and had the face done. It leaves a rough light grey raw cast iron feel. I gave the face a light touch of RP7 to stop rusting. This soaked straight in and left the face rough. I cleaned the grooves and away I went. I swear it is easier to spin now,and is taking it's toll on my golf balls to prove it. Anyone tried it?
