Hi jasc,
I know the camera angle is not exactly face on but it still looks like your ball position is a little too far back in your stance. What iron is this you have in your hands?

It's an eight iron. I would say it shuold be positioned just ahead of middle of your feet towards your left foot. Go through the ball position drill here: http://www.golf-tuition-online.com/v...rtedit&artid=1
Good Luck
Greg

Jasc,
Looking at your setup position, your chin seems to be too far down and your shoulders slumped in toward the ball.
If you raise your chin your shoulders will be able to swing more naturally back and through the ball.
The shoulder slump looks to be coming from a few sources. The best way to correct it is have a friend take a shaft and put it on your spine after you take a setup position. The shaft should come in contact with you head and your back will be straighter, not stiff just straight. Don't force it. When you swing back in this new position you will have much more shoulder rotation.

Ball a little to far back in stance, could lead to your set-up being closed causing hooks when not relaxed

First off, I am not a golf pro so take that into consideration.
I used to have the exact ball placement for my short irons. It allowed me to get a lower trajectory in ball flight and I was able to hit the ball further. I would hit an 8 iron 150.
I recently had a really good golf lesson and the pro told me that I should move my ball forward in my stance and get my feet closer together and concentrate on powering through the ball. If you get your weight shift to the left dialed in, you keep the same distance but the ball flight is a lot higher. I found that I had to concentrate on my swing plane a lot more, I sometimes had the tendency to come over the top of the ball when I first started the whole ball forward weight shift thing. I am very glad that I made the change as it has allowed me to have better staying power on the greens from 150 out. If you work on it, you will find that you will stop gardening on the driving range as your divot will be after the ball and the same depth every time. Now days I make one initial divot and then all my other balls are placed right at the back of the divot and I don't have to feel bad about tearing up the driving range.
I still use this stance in windy conditions or if I want to hit the front of the green and get a bit of a run.
Keep golfing
