| at 5 feet 6in i am struggling to find a putter that sits flat with my eyes over the ball and my forearms in line with the shaft, i find myself really bent over to get a flat lie angle with a shortened putter, which i have experimented with. The 2 main UK retailers aren't much help [ stand nearer the ball ]. Would a forged putter have the flexibility to be bent a la forged irons? The fisher smart link seems unavailable in the uk and i have e-mailed golfsmith europe to see if the snakes eyes putters are available properly fitted. The style i have in mind is a heel / toe weighted design. I need to get myself a repeatable set up as inconsistency is costing me shots. HC10. thanks Brian. |

| Re: putter fitting When it comes to putters, the shaft ends up being bent, not the hosel necessarily. So any putter is totally customizable. In fact, I was reading the other day that most putters were made to 35" with the intent that they get cut down to size. Since no-one actually did this, we now see lengths from 35" to 30". You already know that your eyes should ideally be over or slightly inside the ball/line, then you fit your length from that posture. This may, in fact, necessitate either standing closer or bending over more if you're not going to alter length or lie.

| Re: putter fitting In double bend shafts, sometimes you get a little wrinkle. But there are many putters whose shafts simply epoxy into a hole in the head, the only thing left to bend is the shaft. |
