Great Swing Sequence Photos

I have no idea who this is, but we can all learn a lot from looking at these.

I would lay my house on the fact that this guy is long and straight through the bag.

That video I posted on the other thread today is a swing I drool at, so simple and effective

Haven't seen that one yet. PC at work is crep and doesn't play anything that isn't window media.

I could watch that swing for hours Brian, I watched it using pause, I was most interested in the position of his right shoulder and elbow coming into the downswing. That's an area where I have a swing flaw ( although working hard on it ) his position was wonderful, his right elbow was well tucked in, excellent post, thanks.

His position at the top is interesting. Maybe it is the angle but he seems to comes pretty far short of parallel. Not a bad thing at all just interesting.

Just watched Brian's video. Is it pretty typical for one planers to be less than parallel at the top?

Yes it is, and you'll notice how the right elbow gets sucked back and that I believe is one of the keys.

IMO that is the correct position at the top, irons should not be parallel as that will create an over-swing and loss of position. Longer woods will become more parallel simply due to the longer shaft and weight creating more hinge in the wrists.

These photos are extremely good for learning. This swing is built for both power and accuracy.

The backswing need not go too far beyond where the hands are at shoulder height. Bear in mind we have an extra couple of feet of shaft on top of where our hands are to get all the potential energy we need in the swing.

For me the best frame is the impact position. It screams of effortless power. His moves in the downswing are all in the right order.

Very Mac O'Grady. Wonderfully fluid. And what a picture-perfect finish position. None of this silly modern phenomenon of wrapping the club round your neck.
