Is Kelly tilghman back as the Anchor on TGC?

I've been in the middle of a move, and just noticed a few days ago the flap about Kelly Tilghman's comments about Tiger.

It was pretty clear to me watching the clip that she didn't intend anything racist towards Tiger by it, and Tiger has said it was a non-issue. But with the Golf Week Cover and Al Sharpton getting himself involved it seems to have gotten a little hot. She was suspended for two weeks by the Golf Channel, but I think that was supposed to be done by now.

I saw her doing some analysis from a mobile truck during the weekday rounds of the Northern Trust, but is she back anchoring again with Faldo? Anybody heard?

Yes she is back - she was suspended for two weeks, then right back last week and the week before that I believe.

I can't recall if she did a bit of anchoring with Faldo this past week though. I personally am not a fan of hers, not because of what she said, just that I don't like women anchors commentating during a men's sport (Men's golf, men's soccer, college football, etc.)

i tend to agree with you on this. we have a woman commentator on football,and although she is very knowledgeable it just does not sound right,

I like Kelly. I think she has a sexy voice. I also like listening to Nick flirt with her to the point of harrassment. He is a stud kicking the stall all night! I agree that she intended nothing more than to say what Tiger's colleagues already think. Don't you think that someone should have pressed the "dump" button and not allowed the comment to air? The do it for everything else. What producer would be complacent stupid enough to allow her comment, knowing full well the implications? They wouldn't let anyone drop the f-bomb, right? These are professionals and they probably know the rules inside and out.

The same kind of comment cost Howard Cosell his entire broadcasting career. Considering, she got off very light !!!

I understand what you're saying about Cosell, Chessbum, but that was the 60's & 70's. What I am saying is that someone must be and is responsible to keep the channel out of trouble. Just the way they do in radio, there is someone supposed to sit listening to the telecast & their job is to "dump" the inappropriate comment and keep it going. Nowadays nothing "live" is really live. I think Golf Channel did her wrong.

I like Kelly. Glad to have her back. She shouldn't have served any suspension.

Curiousity got to me. I had no idea what this thread was about re: Kelly T, so I googled Ms. Tilghman and read what she said.

In my wildest dreams I cannot see what the BIG deal is. Seems like a gross over reaction to harmless banter between her and Nick.

Oh well...I guess I need someone to explain PC to me.
