Unhappy Shank and flat swing HELP asap

Basically i seem to be shanking alot lately and its getting on my tits! can someone out there give me some advice or cures as to why or how im doing this shot,a list of all the possibilities or even video tips, simple drills to use on the range.Im the only one out of a large group of friends who has this problem from time to time,im a 23 but have played to 14,16,18 and 20.I think it could have something to do with my weight transfer and sometimes pulling the club on an inside path??? plus my backswing is a bit flat too!

HELP PLLLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEE !!!!

Re: Shank and flat swing HELP asap

Been there, done that (YUCK)
The last few months I have been focused on keeping the club in front of me as I turn (pure stuff going on)...Not snatching it back anymore, under the shaft angle or over or whatever, but there have been alot of threads on this and I actually have/had one myself....Could be as simple as standing to close at address( who know's ) unless we see. But it's obvious the hosel is catching the ball first, possibly throwing the club at the ball with to much in to out with the flatter swing.......

See where the butt of the club is pointing at on the backswing at 9:00 to 10:00, if it's pointing way outside the target line ....Anything can happen.

Re: Shank and flat swing HELP asap

Quite often it's due to a poor/lack luster take away and then you start back down and attack the ball to early from the inside to out type of swing.

This guy should help you sort it. Good luck.

BTW shanks come and go, even pro's get them ! They say that a shank is close to being a great shot, but I never hit the centre of the green when I get one lol..
