Re: Weather in the UK

hi
the snow if coming down really heavy just now and you can see about 30 feet in front of you, glad i was not out on my golf course as it inland and it will be really bad there, here on the coast it don't snow much with all the salt air. think this is the heavest it has been this year.
cheers from a cold and white east lothian.

Re: Weather in the UK

We've had snow as well. The golf course is closed. With luck it might be open next weekend. Looking at the weather forcasts April will be just as bad as March. The course will either be closed or open but hardly playable.

Re: Weather in the UK

hi Puttking
were open all year round for them that brave or daft enough to go out when its -4 with a wind chill of -8. the snow from midday had gone but still a cold ice wind coming from the north-east.
once that wind changes to a westerly thinks should get warmer.

we once played a game in snow and it was really fun. you use a sand rake upside down to clear a path for the ball on the greens. use orange ball but still had to find in the snow. was a 9 hole game 20 of us played one new year about 20 years ago. 17 of us lasted the 9 holes out as it was freezing cold and then had weeks talking about what a great day it was.
cheers
bill

Re: Weather in the UK

I had a game yesterday, didn't manage 18 though. Got to the 14th tee, prob the furtherest place away from the clubhouse when we got hit with a blizzard. Tried to play on but couldn't see where the balls where going. Roll on the summer!!!
