golf instruction

My last thread about the DVD's by Jack Nicklaus didn't get any responses so I guess they don't exist, believe me I've tried to find them. So my question is this, does anyone have any opinions on the best golf instruction books out there? I've read Ben Hogan's book, though I thought the book was good I cannot imitate his swing, I'm more looking for a book that describes today's modern golf swing. A little background I'm a big dude who lift's alot of weights and even competes in local power lifting competitions. That being said I've learned that I don't have the flexibility that many players have, and I've learned to play my best golf in what some would describe as a two-plane swing, arms chopping down more than around the body. So if anyone has any ideas on a book that I might try I'm all ears. Thanks for your opinions!!

you could try the 3skills dook, ther is a link on this site, and a whole forum on it , so you could see what it's all about before parting with any cash!

3 Skills is somewhat different in its approach but many have benefited from it.

Another thing to consider if you are a big guy and find it difficult to use a two plane swing is a more one plane type based on Moe Normans swing. Look at this site, if you register it has some good video lessons.

i found that Leadbetter's Interactive DVDs have to be the best teaching DVDs i have seen. not only do they teach you but you can put in your faults and he comes back with tips and drills to help you. there is also software where you can tape your swing and send it off to be analyzed or analyze it yourself. you get 4 DVDs on the swing and one disc with the analysis software. not a big fan of Leadbetter but a fan of this interactive package.

Yeah leadbetter's interactive Dvds are very good, but may i suggest you have a look at ernie els's book. Can't think of its exact name but the "big easy" may have a similar build to yourself a give you a hand out?
