Sprowston Manor nr. Norwich

Anybody payed it since it's £1.6 million revamp in 2003?

I've never been there and I've got a golf break coming up there soon!

By the info from Golfbreaks.com and the Marriott website it's a helluva place!

Re: Sprowston Manor nr. Norwich

Hi Neil

I played at Sprowston twice last August on a Golfbreaks package. You won't be disappointed the course is amazing. We were allowed to play off the very back tees which was certainly interesting!!! There are some HUGE greens, on one of the holes we had 14 putts between the 4 of us.

I would advise you to buy a course planner as there are some hidden bunkers and a fair bit of water.

We got talking to a greenkeeper on the course who told us they are hoping to stage a Euro Pro event in the very near future so that gives you some idea how good it is.

All in all this is prob the 2nd best parkland course i've ever played, only the Brabazon at the Belfry is better.

Hope you enjoy it, let me know what you think of it.

Cheers for the info.

Really looking forward to it! Even more so now!

14 putts between four of you?! Which green? I'll remember that one! I'll have one putt and the other three can split the rest!

Huge greens will be a nice change. My course has tiny greens but is really long. Looking forward to playing on a well manicured track too. Too much clumpy stuff and shoddy greens at the moment where I am.

I can't remember which hole it was, about the 7th or 8th rings a bell. We are all single digit handicappers i'm ashamed to admit as well.

Its a fairly long course so you'll feel at home there mate, well it was off the back tees.

Hope you are getting a good deal on the package you've selected. We paid £125 for 2 rounds and DBB.

Not sure if I should admit this for your sake, but you should have gone to Specsavers!

We're getting DBB and 2 rounds for £105!!! We are going for a Sunday/Monday though and they're always cheaper.

I'm going with two 20's and a 28 'capper so I doubt we'll play off the tips. Imagine us lot asking to go off the backs only to dig up the tee box with an assortment of clubs and play 3, 5 or even 7 off the tee! Could be worth a grin though! Maybe on the second round.

Only 12 days to go!

Woohoo!

Yes I think that offer/price was available to us but we wanted Saturday and Sunday as we had a game arranged at Forest Pines in Lincs on our way back up north on the monday.

You'll definitely enjoy it regardless of what tees you play off. I'm very jealous.

That sounds great value. Bit of a stretch from here though.

Hope the weather is good Neil.
