Igolf NEO

Anybody have the Neo Gps from IGolf...it's about the only gps that's in my price range. I know I won't be able to download my course but I'd take the time to set it up myself.

Re: Igolf NEO

The only caveat I'm hearing so far about the Neo is that you should pony up for the 1 year warranty - but that beyond that it's a heckuva unit.

Re: Igolf NEO

Thanks for the reply LowPost. The only thing that's holding me back at this point is trying to find out if the front and back yardages adjust for your angle into the green. If I pull my tee shot way left on a dogleg left and am 90 degree different in approach than the hole was designed. I don't want my gps to say 150 to the front and the same to the back. Want the green to rotate for approach angle.

Re: Igolf NEO

I'd imagine not - that's the 'intelligreen' feature in SkyCaddie.

In the iGolf application, front, center, back are all fixed points (much like hazards and other marked points on the hole).

For example, lets say your approach misses left by 6 yards on a 30y x 30y green, right in the middle of the green. Front and back may measure 22 while center measures 21, as the front and back are fixed to the course. With the intelligreen system, the front would show as 6 yards, the middle would show as 21, and the back would show as 36.

It still works, though, because you're still getting Front, middle, back yardages - even though you're approaching from an angle, you can guesstimate how far to carry your front edge based on those yardages. Remember, middle will never change no matter how far you are from it. 15 yards from the middle is always 15 yards from the middle.

A new highlight: Golfing the home course on Christmas Day.

I say it too often: If it's golf club shaped, you can play with it.

For the record, I'm a club doctor, not a swing doctor.

Re: Igolf NEO

I don't have a lot of other significant points on the main course I play so I might end up using 2 of my 4 custom points to mark the left and right edge of the green.

Thanks Low Post
