Smile 79 (Net 65)

Managed my first score in the 70's (79) off the medal tees, at Leven Thistle golf club today, playing of 14 (13.8) for a net 65 pity i had a d.bogey, bogey finish or it couldve been much better, although it was better finish than last thursday when i was 8 over (par=71) with two holes left and i finished with a 10 and a 7

so at least my handicap is starting to come down now, hopefuly i can keep it up and work towards a single figure handicap.

good work cobra9d

the low scores should come flooding in.

took me ages to break 80 but once you do then you find it easier to shoot lower again,
im currently off 16 and play a par 70 course but have shot nett scores of 61, 63 in recent comps and even nett 59 in a social game

Re: 79 (Net 65)

Well done fella.

I have yet to break that elusive 80. Hit 82 at yesterdays medal for my first ever handicap cut by .9 since I got my official handicap last year.

Now sitting on 16.6. Still reasonably happy with my score, but as usual you focus on the negatives, I think back to that blasted triple bogey that could have got me into the 70s.

If I just played simple course management I could have stayed on track but I got too greedy out of a nice lie in the rough and risked 4i hybrid. Connected well but ended up losing that ball. Now wishing I just chipped back out to fairway.

However I learned another lesson, when things are going well in future I will take the safe play!

Don't ya love this game .

Re: 79 (Net 65)

top stuff cobra. 1.9 daym, u got slugged hard.

the last 6 weeks i've been shotting low-mid 80's.

yesterday was extremely frustrating. back 9. i went. tripple, bogie, tripple. but had a 4 over on the front.

needless to say technically my game has been bad. i think only experience and my good putting saves me averaging 29.5 putts / round.
