Question Natural Golf

Hi,

Does anyone know anything about the natural golf program. I overheard some guys talking about it when I was over in the UK recently. Apparently it was a totally revolutionary way of swinging the golf club, and was meant to be very effective. I think they said the guy was from Australia - Peter someone I think...

I would like to know has anyone heard anything about it??? I don't know if this method of teaching still exists??? The only natural golf program I can find is naturalgolf.com and I don't think this is the same method. Please help.

Thanks
Bill

Re: Natural Golf

Hi Googles,

Yes, NaturalGolf.com is the correct website. As you will see on their website, the biggest differences are a palm grip, arms extended on the same plane as the club, a widened stance and facing the ball at impact.

As for how it works, I only played with one guy who used it and he was a 8 handicap. I haven't seen anyone on tour use this method, so I wouldn't suggest it, but I guess for some people it could work. There was a show on the Golf Channel called Natural Goolf Makeover and I couldn't watch - it was undoing all the things I have worked on over the past 4 years! Needless to say, I never found out if it helped them or not - I assume it did or it wouldn't be much of a sales pitch.....

Can we get one of the pros' opinions on this?

Lightbulb Re: Natural Golf

Hi Guys,

Natural Golf was a "new" method of swinging the club. Here in the UK Natural Golf Schools were set up (I think in the mid nineties), they didn't last very long - maybe a couple of years. I think the guy that originally developed the idea was Peter Croker, a PGA Professional from Australia. I will look into this. I am sure that there is an old training manual around somewhere, I will post more when I find it. The website seems to address the same principals, although the names promoting it do not ring any bells. Maybe these guys have the rights to distribute this method now???

I found the Natural Golf manual. It was indeed Peter Croker (Australian PGA Professional) who along with Jefferey Johnson (Instruction Program Researcher/Designer) who developed this Natural Golf method. The book was published in 1994 and is called The Hit. Read more on Peter Croker and his ideas at his website here.
