I have been out of the game now for a number of years but have since renewed my interest. Getting frustrated with my inconsistency, I decided to get a lesson from a pro. This was most helpful with my shorter irons but the moment I use a longer iron or wood, I'm all over the place! I am now hitting the ball worse with these clubs than I ever have before! Almost contemplating going back to my old habits..... |

| Re: Can anyone please help? Persevere... I did the same thing just last week (resulting in laser short irons, and mi**** long irons - mostly pushes). But I took in a round last night, and when I swung the right way, it felt effortless, added 10-15 yards, (in fact, I had a 280 yd drive last night- a first for me! (a 55yd improvement)), and went straight. But to start, it was just short irons. So keep at it, keep practicing the 'new swing' until the new swing is the normal swing... and enjoy more success. |

| Re: Can anyone please help? Just an update - a week and a half later, I was +2 clubs for all distances (ie hit a 7 iron where I was hitting a 5 iron), after diligently using the 'new swing'. Now it's easy... and the 'new swing' is now 'my swing'. Just a reminder - keep at it. It's like the old axiom, 'fake it until you make it'. |
