Ball Distance/ Air Temperature Hi guys, Here's a question for you all. What effect does the air temperature have on ball distance. It's just that I went to the diving range the other day to work on some new swing thoughts yet my distance was dramaticaly redused yet i was hitting the ball well . Ok the temperature was 4' C is this a factor.?

Re: Ball Distance/ Air Temperature I'm with mizuno - under 10*C, I take one more club, and I'll often play a 'ladies' ball - or any other ball with low compression. It helps reduce the freezing effect.

Re: Ball Distance/ Air Temperature Mizunoman's spot on. Colder air is more dense and therefore increases the drag on a golf ball reducing the distance it flies. It's also worth noting that increasing air pressure and humidity also increase air density.
