Question Love the clubs, Don't know what they are?

Hello all,

Just wondering if anyone can help me. I got my clubs from my dad and I've been playing with them for a short while now. They're pretty old clubs Wilson Tour Model K-28. Anyways, he also gave me two extra woods a 3 and a 5 wood. And here is my question. It doesn't say anywhere on them who makes them. The first time I tee'd up with them I cranked it. I was pretty impressed, but the sound was weird. So, I hit them again. Same sound. I looked at the club face and on it says graphite. Yes, a graphite club face. The only other distinguishing marks are at the bottom. The 3 wood says SuperThree and the 5 wood SuperFive. Does anyone know which club makers used graphite faces? Was this a fad or trend at some point in time. I will post pics if anyone thinks it will help identify them. Thanks.

Travis

They will be Wilson clubs, king.

There was a bit of a fad for carbon fibre wood face inserts for a while they thought it would compete with metal woods (it didnt).

I would actually keep them safe king, its the type of thing that only ever gains value, if they are at all in good condition I would just store them and use them sparingly. Sounds like a fine find, lucky swine.......

D,

Thats cool. I actually have the origianl K-28 woods. They have a wooden face with some sort of insert in the middle. How much if any distance will I gain by switching from graphite faced woods to metal woods?
