Nissan Open

Have you seen the 6th Green in this weeks Nissan Open, it's got a bunker in the middle.

What idiot thought that was a good idea?

OK perhaps not an idiot, but it's no good for the game flirting sand in every direction over the surface, chipping off the green over the bunker (shot at dawn at my club).

Its ok if everyone hits the green in the right place like the pros this week but surly this is no good for golf.

Can you imagine the state of your local course if you had a bunker in the middle of one of your greens.

Not for me thanks.

Ian.

Re: Nissan Open

Its just a gimmick I suppose Ian, I dont expect I will ever get to play the course so It wont bother me too much . They should keep that stuff for the silly season courses though.

Re: Nissan Open

I didn't see the nissan open but, I have seen one last year where ernie els chipped off the green over a sand bunker in the middle of the green, the commentators said that if a member of the coarse was to do that they would lose their membership.

Re: Nissan Open

But why!? hmm they do have a point, cause the members may take divots on the green! and the pros can sweep it nicely, but i still think thats undfair!

Re: Nissan Open

I agree with the other guys, looks stupid, don't like it, the pros should have to putt like members.
