| Big Head, More Confidence? Hi all! Well, when you read reviews about golfclubs i.e drivers it will say somewere this has a 460cc head, this will make you more confident when your at addres, is this true? or is it personal prefence? and even with putters, like the ping doc, i dont mind big heads but i think there alittle of-putting at addres, what do you think? | Re: Big Head, More Confidence? I've got 14 drivers right now just to test this out. (Yes, 14). Everything from a no-name 291cc Unix head to a Dunlop 460cc head... in a multitude of shafts. I daresay confidence comes from knowing you can hit the club (and once the snow clears, I'll find out which club that is!) |

| Re: Big Head, More Confidence? Actually, I won a lot of 10 drivers on eBay (small headed drivers, but some quality shafts), picked up 2 drivers at a discount superstore, and bought a SMT Spectrum with an Accuflex Evolution shaft. My original driver makes 14. |

| Re: Big Head, More Confidence? The 'bungalow on the end of a stick' thing doesnt really affect me either way, I used to like the more 'classic' profile, especially in the Driver. I used to use a Titleist 976R (210cc!!!!) until I decided to switch to a 'Hot' faced driver last winter. I was initially wary that i would find the head size unwieldy and distracting but fortunately I didnt seem to notice so I went to the Callaway ERC II (335cc) then onto a Great Big Bertha II+ (380cc) then a Titlest 975 L-FE (350cc) and finally a Mizuno MP-001 (400cc). I changed driver frequently last season because I had actually found the perfect driver in the ERCII but it broke and Callaway sent me the GBB II as a replacement which I played with for a few months but never really got to grips with it. Then I tried the L-FE but found It gave me too high a launch angle so settled on the MP-001. I am getting a Snake Eyes driver soon that is a massive 430cc so I have well and truly left my preconceptions about the big headed drivers well behind. However I still prefer a smaller headed iron and absolutely cannot use a large headed putter. Maybe in time.....lol D. |
