What annoys you most about golf

On a 399yd par four yesterday, I hit a beautiful, straight 250yd drive right out of the screws. There was no run on the fairways, so it probably carried about 240. I'm now in A1 position with 150 to the pin. I take out my 5 iron and duff it about 20 yards.

To me, there's nothing more likely to make me wrap a club around a tree than following up a great drive with a duff shot.

What shots make everyone else see red on the golf course?

The missed 18 inch putt makes me want to kill.........

8 iron off tee 150yds 8 iron again 150yds and wedge to 18 inches make putt come off with four.


Whats the difference...........know what I mean....

Hitting a pure drive straight down the center of the fairway only to have some bugger playing a different hole zig zagging along the course pick your ball up.

Happens alot at our course.

Skying a drive, then grabbing the 3 wood and absolutely launching a great shot. Now you're lying 3 where a good drive would have had you lying 2.

The other thing that drives me absolutely bonkers is when the ambient noise level changes through my swing. If you're not talking - keep quiet. If you are talking, KEEP TALKING. Don't realize I'm swinging and then suddenly shut up. I need the Tiger ability to stop my swing on a dime.

I played a course a few years ago where I lost 3 balls on the fairway. Drive was straight as an arrow, there were no hazzards and the grass was cut to normal fairway length. The balls just disappeared!!!! It's tough marking penalty stokes for perfect drives down the middle!!!

The worst thing is, hitting a cracking driver, then just shi***** the rest of it up

I've had that happen, too... quite frustrating!

Putting an even round together and blow it on two holes to barely shoot sub 40!!

Lot's of situations steam me. Currently the chili dipped chip from just off the green is a pisser. Really hard to concentrate on the rechip after that.

I have to agree...this sucks. Happened to me about 4 times last year, but it was close to dusk everytime, and one was right up by (but not on) the green.

I hate going to the 18th shooting a great score hit a great drive then blow it double or triple bogey happens to me all the time.

For me it is all about "other" people. I realy am a nice, easy going guy who will put up with just about anything.

* When someone gets to the tee box without all the equipment ready. Has to go back in the bag, fumble around then say "Can I borrow a tee?". I take a handfull and throw them at them.

* When anyone steps in my line as I am reading a putt. It's not the fact that there will be spike marks as those are pretty much rendered extinct thanks to those plastic nobby clets they call "spikes" that you have to replace every 10 rounds. It's the general awareness issue of the other person that gets me. I usually say something funny like, "Well, this putt WAS going to be pretty straight, but now after that hoof print you gave me, it looks like it will break quite a bit to the left..."

* Practice swings. 1 is ok, it's when there are lots of them. "Go to the range if you need a workout..."

* Any color of a ball other then WHITE!

* Having to wait on the tee for a slow group in front of you...(that does not bother me) it's when the group behind you who asks to play through. I usually say, "you might want to get the permission of the group of the folks in front of us first...we'll wait."

* Bag tags. I know it is all about where you have been, and how much money you have, and the quantity of both, but please, take them off and save them AT HOME! I don't need to have to see that you played Pebble Beach 6 times from 1982 to 1997 and was the guest of the Babbling Rocky Pines G&CC member guest for 15 consecutive years. I think this is my top one...of all ones to be most bothered by, this is the one. I really am ashamed to admin it.
