Is this a good putting drill?

I place two golf balls apart (no wider than my putter blade) and putt through the balls from various distances 3 feet, 6 feet, and 9 feet. I use it to practice my aim.

Re: Is this a good putting drill?

That works as well, or you can use two clubs from you bag. Although I'm sure a lot of you agree, when your putting isn't going so well it isn't because you aren't putting on the correct line, it is more likely due to incorrect pace/speed. I work a lot on practice greens just trying to judge the appropriate speed of a putt and trying to get the ball to lag to the hole and you'd be surprised how many go in!
