| I know this has been discussed loads of times but I have a strange reason for mentioning this. When I first started to play in the early 80's I had a set of wilson blade irons given to me. I had a few lessons and my swing was much improved. To cut a long story short I changed my clubs to over sized cavaty backs as the pro's etc were adiment that a high handicapper like me at the time was not doing himself any favours using no off set blades. My game has struggled ever since. But every one keeps saying blades are for low handicappers. Two months ago I acquired a set of slazenger B51 blades for a fiver off a friend and my game has never looked back. I am in the mid 80's now instead of the low to mid 90's. The clubs are light and I have lost my slice, great. Also I have to club down now, which means my distance is much improved. Any ideas why I seem to "buck" the trend?

| Re: Blades verses cavities You built your swing around a blade set of clubs so you are used to the mi****s and how they hit. When you switched to cavities you lost some performance for more forgiveness. I have no idea why you started slicing but since your game works better with blades, there is no reason not to use them. |
