Artificial turf solution

Some time I posted a message regarding artificial turf and practicing your golf shots - essentially I was looking for a low cost substitute for turf, so I could swing my club indoors or outdoors without ruining the grass or wrecking my club. I think I have found the solution.

I was at the gym, at my place of employment, and I saw a stack of thick blue training mats. These mats were thicker than the typical training mat. I put the mat on the hard floor - got some soft practice golf balls - and away I went. The mat, while imperfect, will not damage my clubs and I can use it virtually anywhere! Needless to say it was 4:00am and I had the gym to myself.

Re: Artificial turf solution

I had just come across a $300 solution - but it's astroturf like they use at domes.

It looked sweet.

Re: Artificial turf solution

Man, you gave me and idea, If I could get my hands on a 2 feet by 2 feet of that stuff, my kid and I would be in heaven, (we have torn up all the grass around our townhouse, hahahah.) Have to find out what do the football fields do with the old turf.

Just a thought.
