Re: The Comp Results are in!

Enter the grand conundrum - the holy grail, if you will - of the driver combo.

Shaft plays a huge part, but not every head is good with it. Just like you may love a head (like me and the SMT Spectrum) but have to find a shaft that will love you back.

Hopefully the UST V2 (see, I always assumed you were talking about the Accuflex Icon V2) will be what you need. The UST shaft is mid kick - I think most UST shafts are.

You'll probably do all right with this shaft and a 10.5* head.

Re: The Comp Results are in!

The NV fits right up my alley. I spent all day at a demo day and not one shaft did better with any of the clubs i hit. Medium flight, good feel, nice choice, although i do want to swing a nano just to see how it feels.

Re: The Comp Results are in!

The trick to the AccuFlex Evolution is to swing it one flex softer than you would any other shaft. IE if you're swinging the green monster in stiff, swing the Evo in reg.

ALWAYS make sure you put woods with a graphite shaft on a flex board or frequency monitor - NEVER trust a label when it comes to shaft flex in graphite shafts.....

Re: The Comp Results are in!

Generally speaking I agree Gord - all shafts should be measured (whether you freq or deflect). But I've read plenty of reports about guys who normally take stiff shafts talking about how the Evo S swings like a piece of rebar - so when they take the next flex down, it's OK.

Re: The Comp Results are in!

Now i have to redo my picture just because of the G2 and the platinums. I think that once i warm up to this club, and i feel comfortable going at it, i will see a decent increase in distance.
