| Who spends... Just wanted to take a quick poll here. I don't know the financial status of many of you, but I seem to spend so much money golfing, that I can't ever afford to upgrade any of my equipment. I just wanted to see how many other golfers out there are suffering from the same condition :-) So, "Who spends so much money golfing, that they can't afford to upgrade their equipment?" My gear 400cc Hippo TI driver 10.5 deg. S flex 3W 5W Stainless Big Bertha Knockoff UST Proforce 65 S flex 3-PW Callaway Knockoff UST Comp. shafts S flex 56 deg. | Re: Who spends... Even if I only play a short course (Par 3) its 23.50 US. Public rates on private courses are VERY expensive. It can range from 50-100 US for per round. The only private course that I can play on free is Oahu Country Club. That's only because my uncle is a member, and he's rich so he pays for me lol. I'm a student, so I don't have much income. To afford my dream set, I'd have to save for 4 months. This means no golfing, bars, food ect. Realisticly, it'd take me about a year to save up. There's no possible way to save all my pay since I have a girlfriend lol. |

| Re: Who spends... I'm the other way around - I spend so much on equipment, I can't afford to play other courses. |

| Re: Who spends... I have a month to month membership where i pay a small amount of money and can play unlimited golf. But my budget is so tight I cannot afford to upgrade my equipment. I do have a reasonable set of clubs which work for me, so my need to upgrade is not a big issue. I like to upgrade but it will take me 2 years to save enough for a good set of clubs. Mind you I spend tones of money on bowling. will be getting a good christmas bonus from that, but that buys all the chrissy presents for my 5 children. |

| Re: Who spends... I typically pay between $25 and $45 a round. I usually pull my clubs around in a hand cart, but some courses require the use of a drive cart on weekends, to move things along, so that adds to the cost. But I don't have a lot of disposable income for golf, so I don't spend much on equipment. I'm just now getting to the point where I'm thinking of getting a slightly better driver than the $20 model I'm now using. I have a daughter in college and plenty of other bills to pay, and I can't justify dropping large sums of money on this game.

| Re: Who spends... Yeah ... I have a serious problem with spending too much money. I am addicted to buying golf clubs and stuff. I'm not joking - I have a s-e-r-i-o-u-s problem! This a list of the new-ish stuff I have around: 1 x set of Callaway X-Tour irons (I've hit the 6-iron) (didn't pay for them) 2 x Callaway 454 drivers (different shafts fitted) (practiced with them) 1 x Set of X18 Pros (hit with them into the net to try but didn't like them) 1 x Set of Callaway 2004 Big Bertha irons (I've hit the 6,7 and 8 iron - nice but not my taste) 1 x Set of Mizuno MP30's (made specially for me with a special grind and finish) - Nice but I didn't sign with Mizuno in the end. 1 x Ping G2 driver (hit a few times on the Achiever) 1 x Ping G5 driver (arrived a few days ago, not tried it yet) 1 x Set of Titleist 690MBs (never used them) 1 x Set of Titleist 690CBs (nope, still in the box and plastic) 3 x R7 drivers (I used the 1 for a week and then binned it) 1 x set of the new Taylor Made XR7 irons (they're not even released yet) 1 x set of Taylor Made LT irons (got them from the factory as a gift) 1 x set of TA7's - never used other than to decide I don't like cavity backs. I bought my wife a set of Callaway Big Bertha 2004 irons fitted with graphite shafts, staff bag, 454 driver, BB 3 & 5 woods, Odyssey 2 ball putter. She's never used them either! That excludes the Ben Hogan kit I have now from the factory that I do play with and have no idea what old equipment I still have. I have (I think) about 20 wedges of various discriptions. I have a couple of staff bags and carry bags ... I have 8 pairs of Adidas golf shoes (not paid for) I have 60-odd Birdi golf shirts (not paid for) I have 10 pairs of Birdi trousers (not paid for) And a shit load of other Birdi clothing... (also not paid for) I need help!! Anything new and I have to have it...

| Re: Who spends... Got any XXL shirts you're looking to liquidate? ![]() I just finished a deal to buy 4 dozen assorted clubs... for $125 USD. And I bought another set of irons... and two more drivers, and a pair of fairway woods... Not to mention more shafts for some wedge heads I have lying around. If I disappear for a while, it's because my wife has killed me for making all these purchases. |
